Between, Still grows through sustained dialogue — with photographers, with bodies of work, and with the questions that emerge from looking carefully. This page is where that dialogue can begin.
The digital journal is always in consideration. The print volume moves on a longer cycle, shaped by inquiry that develops over time. Both are described below.
While the journal is primarily shaped through editorial invitation, we regularly consider cohesive bodies of work and reflective essays for publication in the digital journal.
Submissions should demonstrate alignment with the tone and seriousness of the publication.

Subject line: Consideration — Digital Journal
Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. Contributors whose work aligns with the journal's direction will be contacted directly.
The digital journal includes a recurring feature that looks at photographic work the medium has largely set aside — practitioners whose contribution deserves closer attention, whose images ask to be held again with fresh eyes and present context.
This research is shaped, in part, by correspondence. If you know of a photographer — or a body of work — that you feel has been overlooked, forgotten, or rarely examined, we would like to hear about it. A name, a note, a reason. Nothing more is required.

Subject line: Archive Lead
All suggestions are read. Not every lead becomes a feature, but every one contributes to the editorial direction of this section.
Each print volume centers on a single inquiry. That inquiry grows from dialogue and curation rather than editorial prescription. Themes are not assigned in advance — they take shape gradually, through works published in the digital journal, through correspondence, and through the careful formation of shared questions.
When a question has fully emerged, an Open Call for the forthcoming print volume will be announced here. When announced, it will outline:
Open Call Status: Closed
Digital Consideration: Ongoing
Next Print Inquiry Announcement: To be determined
Photographic projects that engage inquiry with depth and seriousness will be considered.
Both contemporary and archival bodies of work may be submitted.
